I like the way that Lise has thought over how she simplifies her life and complicates it. One way I simplify is to declutter (organize, give away) my stuff about every 3-4 months. I get frustrated when I see stuff sitting around for too long and I have to have a place for it, either I use it or get rid of it. The reason it seems to take 3-4 months is that my tolerance for clutter has increased over time and that is bad. And one way that I complicate my life is the time I spend distracted by other things when I have work to do. For instance just writing this whole post took about an hour because I went and checked my email, changed the channel on the radio a few times and got caught up in other articles - way too many distractions
Donna Jean takes a look at her impending financial doom and while staying calm, figures out where she stands. I like that she looked at it with her head and not her heart, in a manner of speaking. When I can take my emotions out of the equation in regards to the higher cost of things I realize that I too am doing ok. I am still tweaking the ways I buy items, food and entertain myself though, ways that don’t involve pulling out the debit card as often as I used to. I may write frugal for life, but I am far perfect at it!
Second Hand Nation gives us the break down on understanding employee thrift store burnout. I work with someone who has a second job at a thrift store and she agreed with some of the items on this list as well, though since she is not very handy, some just made her laugh, but she understood.
Jonathan gives you a cheaper way to LifeLock with a DIY version. I would have to agree with his findings there is a cheaper way to do the same things that Lifelock offers. The only thing you seem to be paying for with LifeLock is the time it can take and personally, I like to do it myself. There is something to be said about keeping control over my credit information.
Laura helps me understand whether I am a hunter or a gatherer. I am a hunter, I am in and out, I go into a store, find what I need for the best price/value and I am out. I hate to wander about a store and look at sales, items, etc. To me it is like putting yourself in a roomful of candy when you are diabetic, not a good idea. My room-mate though is a gatherer and she can’t doesn’t understand how I can just go in and get out without ‘enjoying the experience’. Gah!

If you like to declutter your life, then you might find a nearby site on www.freecycle.org to get rid of stuff too good to throw away and fill up junk yards, but you want it to go to someone who can use and appreciate it.
You can also post your wants, but pay attention to each sites rules.
Your might find some sites that are spin off sites which allow you to buy, sell, or barter items.
Craigslist.com has a free giveaway section too.
Best wishes,
